Rob McKinnon resumed painting in 2000 after a 30 year break when he was preoccupied with his commercial art studio and marketing services business in Port Melbourne.

Originally an oil painter, Rob has now developed a keen interest in acrylics and experimental mixed media.

Having previously studied Realist Art and Graphic Design he has more recently attended classes in Acrylic Painting, Advanced Drawing and Modern Art. His tutors have included Colin Johnson and Lisa O’Keefe.

In 2002 Rob visited Antarctica on a Russian research ship and complied an Antarctic Sketchbook in co-operation with onboard Russian artist Lilia Slavinskaya.

Rob has received a number of modern art and mixed media awards at art exhibitions in Mentone and Anglesea.
